Hello and welcome to Celadon Hill!
My name is Beth Poggioli and Celadon Hill is about doing what you love and loving what you do.
Celadon Hill is a boutique flower farm in Baldwin, Maryland. We supply seasonal field grown cut flowers to our community via flower subscriptions, do it yourself flower buckets and farmer’s markets. Designers and florists can purchase our flowers wholesale via the Rooted Farmers platform.
Since I was a little girl, you could find me outside and exploring. I loved to work in vegetable gardens with my family, learning how to pick beans. I started growing sunflowers in the front yard, germinating seeds in the kitchen window and eventually teaching others as a Harford County Master Gardener. I marvel at the beauty that emerges from a little water, some light and a lot of love.
My husband Tim and I, along with our four children (all grown now!) have lived in Baldwin, Maryland since 2002. We fell in love with the peaceful pastoral lands and the little house on the hill. We started a garden right away and slowly added patch after patch every few years. One of our greatest pleasures is sharing the bounty from our vegetable and flower gardens with friends and family.
My background is in small business and seeing the emergence and success of small, sustainable agriculture was just the push I needed to see my dream become a reality. In January, 2019, Celadon Hill was born!
Our flowers are started from seed or purchased as seedlings from local vendors. We grow responsibly without chemicals, encouraging biodiversity, soil health, and water conservation. Our small farm doesn’t use big machinery. All work is done using no-till methods with hand tools, cover crops, tarping and leaves and compost.
We are eager to try new varieties and bring back old fashioned favorites. There is a simple joy in getting and giving locally grown goodness.
