Stretching the last blooms as far into November as I can is always a goal. Depending on the weather, it can happen. This year we had mild frosts and warm sunny days almost until Thanksgiving.

I was happy to arrange the last of the lisianthus for our dinner table, along with fresh sage and eucalyptus.

November days unfold at a slower pace. I make an effort to keep moving. We started the month with a 8K in Ocean City on the Boardwalk. There is nothing better than a flat course!

The skies treated us to another peek at the Northern Lights on November 11th. This photo was the next night on the 12th, not as good, but still amazing. Our North view is one of the best.

Amaryllis and Paperwhite preparation start mid month. I source the biggest bulbs for a bigger show. I pot up Amaryllis with soil and moss covering. The Terra cotta pot includes instructions for growing and saving the bulb to bloom each year.

We set up a Paperwhite Kit assembly line on the dining room table. Jars, pebbles, bulb, instructions, and tags finish a “just add water” gift. Paperwhites are fun to watch grow and make the perfect gift.

Dried Flower Ornaments are also available. Dried blooms from this season’s flowers fill the balls.

For Thanksgiving, I made fresh peasant bread for the stuffing and turkey sandwiches. It’s easy and I love having it around to enjoy with soup or a snack. Recipe is from Alexandra Cooks, lots of good stuff!

Recipe for Peasant Bread, I found that it is very important to weigh the ingredients with a digital scale.
I welcome the season of moving indoors while trying to keep moving always. I ran our annual 5K on a chilly Thanksgiving morning. Great way to start a day of feasting.

Brisk walks are better when there’s a cozy fire to warm up to. Archie has found his spot next to the fire. Thank you for following Celadon Hill. Sending warm wishes to you for a healthy and happy holiday from our family to yours.Â
