The fall planted snapdragons, feverfew and larkspur were winners in late May to early June. So much color!
About mid June the temperatures rose and we got our first sunflowers and zinnias.
Pollinators have been busy in the poppy beds.
This year’s most evident visitor were the cicadas. They started around May 20th, peaked about June 1st and are starting to wane now, around the first day of summer. Their constant hum was alarming at first and then oddly comforting. They often flew into the flowers or me, stayed awhile and moved on.
2021 is our third season of growing for production and we are cultivating 1/4 acre+ space of our 2 acre parcel.
In addition to local delivery, we are now offering “pick up” of pre-ordered items at our new driveway stand. Mixed bouquets and sunflower bunches can be ordered with a planned date/day/time pick up Monday through Friday.
Look for our flowers this summer at the Overlea Farmer’s Market on June 26th, July 10th, July 24th, August 7th, August 21st and in September and October too! And remember to order a Bucket of Blooms for your next event!Â

Archie, after a busy day chasing cicadas decided to do a little photo shoot. He loves overseeing Celadon Hill and takes his job as designated farm dog very seriously!
