June flowers are here. Planted in the fall and quietly growing underground. Then, when the days are warm, and the sun is high they shoot up and bloom loudly.

Yarrow, Stock, Snapdragons, Feverfew, Dianthus, Bachelor Buttons and so much more. I harvest almost everyday just to keep up.

During the first two week of June, Canterbury Bells were prolific. They are only here for a short time but last surprisingly long in the vase. They prefer a drier soil and this year has been a winner.

Feverfew and Dianthus are work horses. Full of tall, strong stems and clusters of blooms.

Sunflowers are my favorite because they are strong, bold and always turn their heads to face the sun.

Scabiosa adds a pop of color to every arrangement. The long skinny stems can be tucked anywhere.

People always ask about Poppy Pods- Papaver somniferum. They hold the seeds you eat on your bagel. The flower is short lived. Designers love them.

Find my flowers every Tuesday from 3pm-6pm at Kenilworth Farmers’ Market– 800 Kenilworth Drive at the Shops at Kenilworth. Rain or shine, the market is under the parking pad. Producer only market.
