New Year, New Goals!

Happy 2020! I’m starting off this year extremely grateful for the network of small farmers I’ve met over the last 12 months and excited to begin another year with Future Harvest- Chesapeake Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture as a Level 2 Beginner Farmer! This means, in addition to all the helpful resources provided in class, field days and the awesome conference this month, I’ll also be training at the amazing Two Boots Farm in Hampstead one day a week.

I’m also grateful for all the Paperwhite photos being sent from kitchen and office windows with blooming white flowers. YEAH!! You did it! It makes my heart smile to see folks growing in the dead of winter. Thank you for sharing!!

Happy to report we finally planted the ranunculus! After pre soaking and sprouting for a few weeks in the garage, we planted 100 butterfly ranunculus in the tiered bed, covered and ready for spring.

Lastly, during this sleepy time, I’m reading, taking online courses from the Gardener’s Workshop and studying seed catalogs. Each day Archie and I walk the hill to see what’s happening, knowing there’s life brewing beneath the soil!

Take care friends! Thank you so much for following. Look for my 2020 grow wishlist in next month’s post. Remember to subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to hear about where to buy Celadon Hill flowers.  Feel free to share this post with someone who loves flowers! Spring will be here before we know it!
